A LOVE STORY

Summer 2008 . Dating

Keenan and I met volunteering in a ministry called Young Life.
I had moved back home from being a semester away at college. I was very involved in YL in high school and when I moved back home I had decided to become a YL leader. Through that I met one of my best friends Emily {SIDE STORY- I had only known her for maybe a couple weeks and she asked me one night at a bonfire if I would move in with her, I said yes and we have been best friends ever since.} Emily was super crushin' on another leader (who is now her husband) Chris. Keenan and Chris lived together in the city they led YL in.

...

We would go over there and hang out all the time. A few months passed and one night Emily and I were being ridiculous giddy little girls and this is basically how it played out...
E: Chris told me someone in leadership has a crush on you
ME: (acting like I had no clue even though I did) WHAT!? WHO!?
{side not: she actually said she knew this for a while but couldn't say anything because I was in a "covenant" where I wouldn't date/like/whatever with any guy for 6 months, which I totally wasn't true to & the Good, Forgiving, Humorous God and I worked that out}
E: KEENAN!
{gasps}
This may not seem like a big deal haha but it was. Keenan wasn't close to ANY of the girls (except for his friend/co-leader Jordan)

Keenan did end up telling me himself that he liked me.

...

Our first date consisted of his car not starting. Me driving (I was ok with that). Dinner at Max & Erma's. Dessert at a local coffee shop with live music. and him me taking me back home :).

...
We dated for a summer and then I broke up with him (because I was stupid).
We didn't speak much but a few months later I just found myself wanting to know him more and talk and hangout. I wrote him a letter and my friend drove me to give it to him. I chickened out of course so I just left the note on the front door-got in the car- started driving away- and my friend Sam honks the horn. great. haha.
Well, he liked the note. He told me he was in love with me during a wind storm at night, at a park, with a candle lit dinner of frosted cheerios. it was so sweet! I told him I wasn't ready to "say it back".
{WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME!?}

...
Well, we dated for a total of about a year (I did tell him I loved him). We talked about getting married. We took pre-engagement counseling & he proposed to me via scavenger hunt (how sweet is my husband!) Of course I said YES!

...

We got married April of 2010 and I am still just as much in love with him & appreciate him more now, than the day we said "I do".

April 2010 . Married
