Stromboli

so i decided i need to start cataloging my dinner adventures. here is something yummy & easy thanks to the wonderful chefs of America's Test Kitchen {their recipes are by far the best i have come by. they seem intense at first glance but they do everything step-by-step and they don't miss a beat. this recipe is from their "30 Minute Suppers" magazine. [disclaimer: i dont have a fancy camera so the pictures dont make it look very pleasing but i swear it was really really good!]

You will need:
- 1 pizza dough ball {i get my pizza dough from Sabarro's in the mall. its like $2 & more than enough dough!}
- 8 ounces sliced deli provolone
- 6 ounces sliced salami {at kroger it comes to like .375 lbs. because they dont weigh by the ounce}
- 6 ounces sliced sweet capicola
- 1/2 cup jarred roasted red bell peppers, rinced, patted dry, and sliced thin {i did not use these because quite frankly i think they are gross. but hey, if you like 'em- have at it}
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- salt

What to do:
- Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 425. line baking sheet with parchment paper {if you have non stick pans you dont really need the paper}

- On floured work surface, roll the dough into 9x7 rectangle, with long side facing you {i didnt have much luck with this part as you can see in the picture below but it worked out lol} Evenly lay provolone, salami, and capicola on top each piece of dough, leaving 1in. border at all edges. top with peppers {if using them} and parmesan, then brush edges of dough with egg. starting from long side, roll dough tightly into cylinder, then pinch seam at ends to seal. transfer to prepared baking sheet, seam side down, ends tucked under. brush with additional egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds and salt.

- cover loosely with lightly greased {i sprayed pam} aluminum foil and bake for 10 min. remove foil and continue to bake until crust is golden, about 15 min, rotating pan halfway through baking. transfer stromboli to dish to cool for about 5 min. serve with marinara.

if you have any questions just comment.
{enjoy}
